About

Meet Michelle Our Lead Facilitator

My name is Michelle, and I am the Director of Kent Equine Facilitated Learning. Horses have been my passion since childhood, and that love has shaped the course of my career. I started teaching fitness part-time and eventually became a qualified PE teacher. Owning my own stables further deepened my connection with horses, leading me to pursue a new path in equine therapy. Today, my work focuses on supporting the younger generation's well-being, helping them find peace, balance, and growth through the incredible bond between humans and horses.

Since opening KEFL in 2018, our yard has flourished into a peaceful sanctuary, home to a growing herd of seven horses—Frank, Pompadour, Ginger, Saffy, Lucky, Billy, and Ruby. Recently, we welcomed four alpacas—Aramis, Amazon, Hope, and Archie—and three wild cats—Peaches, Ace, and Chaplin—who roam freely across our 7-acre land. Over the years, we have continually worked to improve and renovate our space, adding a disabled-access toilet, better parking, new gates, and a sand school, all of which were made possible by the generous support of a grant we received. We maintain our facilities daily, prioritising the well-being of our animals, ensuring their interactions with clients are balanced so they are never overworked. Our clients often form special bonds with individual horses, creating a unique relationship that aids in their growth and healing. With our improved facilities, we can now offer a variety of settings, whether it’s in the sand school, fields, or indoor areas, ensuring every client feels safe, comfortable, and supported in a non-judgmental space. We cherish the work we do and are proud to provide a nurturing and peaceful environment for all who visit.

At KEFL, we are always excited to meet new individuals who are ready to embark on a journey toward better well-being. If you feel that KEFL could be the right place for you, reaching out to us is a great first step. We’ll start with a brief phone consultation to understand your needs, followed by a preliminary meeting where we can get to know each other and introduce you to our space.
