KEFL Services
At KEFL, we are always excited to meet new individuals who are ready to embark on a journey toward better well-being. If you feel that KEFL could be the right place for you, reaching out to us is a great first step. We’ll start with a brief phone consultation to understand your needs, followed by a preliminary meeting where we can get to know each other and introduce you to our space.
From there, we work closely with you to design a bespoke program tailored to your requirements. While we often recommend a weekly schedule for optimal results, we are flexible and can adjust based on what works best for you. Each session's length will also vary depending on the individual, as some may thrive with longer periods, while others may find an hour is enough, given the intensity of the work. Our goal is to create a highly accommodating program that truly meets your needs.
Additionally, as we work together, we may identify moments where involving family in sessions could be beneficial in rebuilding relationships and overcoming challenges. We approach every step of the journey with care, ensuring we are progressing toward improved well-being for each individual.
Our Services

In our 1-1 sessions, clients have the opportunity to connect deeply with a horse through guided activities such as grooming, leading, or simply observing. Under the guidance of our skilled therapist, these interactions foster trust and communication skills, helping clients understand their own emotions and behaviors. The therapist observes both the client and the horse's reactions, using these responses to facilitate meaningful discussions about personal challenges, feelings, and goals. This gentle and non-judgmental approach offers a unique space for emotional growth, self-discovery, and healing, creating a foundation for lasting well-being in a supportive environment.

We also recognise that many young people are eager to build new friendships and connect with others who share similar experiences. That’s why we offer group sessions on weekends and during school holidays, providing a supportive and relaxed environment for young people to come together, engage with our horses, and participate in meaningful activities alongside their peers. These sessions are designed to foster teamwork, empathy, and social skills, helping participants feel a sense of belonging and connection.
Once we've established an initial connection with a young person, we work closely with them and their families to determine whether our group sessions would be a good fit for their needs and goals.

Young Group Sessions

Our family sessions are designed to strengthen bonds, improve communication, and foster mutual understanding within a supportive and peaceful environment. Each activity encourages collaboration and teamwork, allowing family members to work together towards shared goals in a calm, non-judgmental setting. Our therapist guides the family through these interactions, carefully observing dynamics and using the horse's responses to highlight and explore patterns of communication, roles within the family, and underlying emotions. This process often opens up new avenues for understanding and empathy, allowing family members to express themselves openly and work through challenges together. Family sessions promote connection, trust, and a sense of unity, helping families strengthen their relationships and build lasting bonds.

Our specialised 1-1 sessions with both an equine therapist and a psychotherapist provide a comprehensive approach for clients. These sessions combine the calming presence of horses with the therapeutic insights of a licensed psychotherapist, creating a space where clients can explore their emotions, build trust, and gain self-awareness. This collaborative approach offers profound benefits: the equine therapist facilitates the client’s connection with the horse, helping them experience non-verbal communication and relationship-building, while the psychotherapist helps the client interpret these experiences in the context of their own emotional journey. Together, they support clients in uncovering patterns, addressing anxiety, building self-esteem, and developing healthier coping mechanisms.
