How Funding Supports KEFL and the Young People We Serve

Why Funding Matters

Funding allows Kent Equine Facilitated Learning CIC to offer safe, meaningful, and life-changing support to young people who may otherwise have nowhere to turn. Every grant, donation, or unspent income allocation helps us:

  • Keep sessions accessible

  • Provide additional adult support

  • Maintain high welfare standards for our animals

  • Offer a calm, therapeutic environment for vulnerable young people

Our Commitment to Using Funding Responsibly

Each year, we reinvest any unspent income from the previous financial year into funded or part-funded places. This ensures that families facing hardship can still access the support they need.

We also actively seek additional funding throughout the year. In previous years, we have been supported by:

  • Charitable trusts

  • Community funding bodies

  • Local and national grant providers

These contributions have allowed us to offer sessions at a lower rate or fully funded when needed.

Thanks to a recent grant from The National Lottery, we have been able to significantly strengthen the safeguarding and structure of our sessions.

This funding has enabled us to:

  • Provide 1:1 sessions with a second qualified adult present

  • Match young people more accurately to either equine learning or equine therapy, based on ongoing assessments

  • Ensure that both young people and adults feel safe, supported, and confident during sessions

  • Maintain a high-quality, trauma-informed environment

This level of support is especially important for young people who:

  • Are neurodivergent

  • Experience anxiety or EBSA

  • Require additional supervision or reassurance

  • Are navigating complex emotional or educational needs

The Impact of Our Funders

Because of the generosity of our funders, we have been able to:

  • Support more families who are struggling financially

  • Offer stability to young people during difficult periods

  • Provide consistent, relational support that builds trust and confidence

  • Maintain a safe, well-staffed environment that meets the needs of each individual

Our Gratitude

We are deeply grateful to the charities, funders, and supporters who make this work possible. Their contributions directly change lives.

If you are a funder or organisation interested in supporting our mission, we would love to connect and share more about the impact of your generosity.
